Your Opportunity
As the Senior Communications Officer you will:
Consult with clients, internal and external, to plan and develop creative communication strategies for departmental initiatives and programs, events, launches, displays and other promotions, which highlight the achievements of the department in delivering its core services.
Plan, write and edit a variety of communication material including publications and other documents, online and digital materials including social media, advertisements, speeches, media releases, briefing notes and correspondence.
The Senior Communications Officer, reports to the Principal Information Officer, Office of the Assistant Director-General, Information and Technologies Branch, Corporate Services Division.
Your Role
As the Senior Communications Officer you will have responsibility for the following:
Deliver high quality, responsive communication services to a range of departmental clients and stakeholders within an account management framework with a focus on efficient, effective and client focused service delivery.
Identify and understand client expectations and provide high level communication advice and develop and implement effective communication strategies, internally and externally.
Write and edit high quality content for:
publications and other communication material
online and digital content including for social media
speeches, media releases, briefing notes, correspondence.
Develop and implement sponsorship proposals and advertising campaigns that deliver effective and measurable outcomes.
Prepare briefings and correspondence for the branch Director, the Director-General and the Minister.
Provide a creative, lateral and innovative approach to the business of the department.
Participate in the strategic and business planning that underpins the branch in order to achieve the delivery of the department's corporate communications.
Identify emerging strategic issues that may impact on the activities of the branch and the department and coordinate the development of management approaches.
